INVITADISIMA stylists have been very aware of what has happened this week in the fashion world. As you know, every first Monday of May, the MET Gala is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
What is the Met Gala and why is it so important? The museum opens its doors to welcome designers, celebrities, actors and the most recognized people in the fashion industry for one of the most important events of the year. The hostess of this gala is none other than the editor of Vogue US, Anna Wintour. Anna is the organizer of this magnificent event that marks the opening of the fashion exhibition that opens the MET. This year has been related to Catholicism and has left us the most amazing looks. This event, which has been going on for 70 years, also aims to raise funds for the museum.

As we mentioned in the previous paragraph, this year’s theme was Catholicism, and it was entitled ”Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and featured 150 pieces that explored the relationship between the garments used by priests and those created by great designers such as Versace, Alexander Wang, Ralph Lauren and other recognized names in the fashion world.
If you are lucky enough to be one of the few exclusive guests to attend this gala, you must take into account the dress code; this year the theme is clear but somewhat controversial, as the dress code made reference to the Christian religion taking into account that you could not be disrespectful.
The editor of the Vogue website, Alice Newbold, said that we would probably see papal replicas or a nod to the Vatican, and the truth is that she was completely right.
