As we love new brands, this one is formed by straight lines and angles, prevailing figures in Joliet jewelry, a handcrafted firm created by Susana Rodriguez. The geometries so characteristic of the Art Deco style, which drinks from the decorative arts and architecture, inspire this minimalist line in polished golden tones and that is declined in the form of earrings, rings, pendants and bracelets, with his vision of the mixture of contradictory elements coexisting in balanced harmony.
Joliet Jewelry was born in May 2018 as her personal project. At a time when everyone is mass-produced, Susana bets on designing and elaborating all the pieces by hand. Making a piece by hand means concentration, meticulousness, patience and time. Each piece in Joliet is special and different, no two are alike. They are unique, modern and vintage designs that can be worn and loved for years to come.
The process of elaboration of each piece goes through different phases. First the creative work is done by the designer, conceptualizing and outlining the different collections. From there, the metal is worked. Some pieces, due to their complexity, are worked on and then reproduced by a process called lost wax casting, oh la la! Once the pieces are finished, she sends them to be gilded with a thick layer of 24k gold.
After 12 years working in the fashion industry, Susana takes the leap into the world of jewelry moved by the desire to create and make pieces with their own hands. Pieces that can be enjoyed, fall in love and be present in the daily life of women as well as in special occasions. Joliet reinvents the past and projects it to the present.
