In 1996, Kim Camarella-Khanbeigi was an aspiring entrepreneur with just one problem. She didn’t have a business idea. With the dot-com boom, revolutionizing how plus-size women’s clothing was perceived and distributed was not something she could have dreamed of.
Since the idea of setting up this American empire. Kiyonna has been designing for curvy women with her collection of contemporary plus size dresses since 1996. Offering styles in sizes 0x-5x, her fashion can be found online and in specialty plus-size clothing stores across the United States. And we bring it to Spain on our specialized platform in the guest sector.
Kiyonna strives to support her local community: 100% of the collection is designed and manufactured in the USA, specifically Orange County, California. Known for more than just fashion, Kiyonna is involved in many charitable organizations and her team is passionate about using the success of their unique niche to make a difference and we know it’s tricky looking for that guest outfit to shine, but never again!
Kiyonna recently documented its 20-year history with an online timeline highlighting key milestones of success. Special moments include celebrities like Melissa McCarthy wearing one of Kiyonna’s lace dresses on the Tonight Show in 2010 and partnering with Sandy Hook Promise in 2015. “I feel like 20 years has gone by in an instant, and in that instant we saw the birth of the Internet and social media and our customers can connect with us like never before,” Kim comments. “It’s an exciting time.”
